About

A pair of Italian neoclassical half consoles, aqua-green painted gesso over hand-carved wood two scrolled legs and shell motif on frieze with white marble top. Also known as bracket consoles they are perfect for a narrow space or for below a window.

Console itself is 27 inches wide by 9 inches deep. The original white-ish marble tops are 11.5 inches by 30 inches allowing for overhang in all directions. We suggest replacing the marble tops with a contrasting polished stone or even metal top.

Provenance: purchased in Italy in 1906 through designer Paula Robertson, 7 East 54th Street, New York, for $200 by Mrs. Frank Plankenhorn, Pittsburgh, PA, thency by descent. Copy of original receipt available.
