Pair of Italian 18th Century Louis XV Period Wall-Mounted Consoles
About the Item
A sensational and most decorative true pair of Italian 18th century Louis XV period patinated and marble wall mounted consoles from Tuscany. Each console is raised by striking scrolled legs with beautiful carved corner foliate designs and a lovely patinated fillet which extends along each border. The legs are connected by a striking scrolled foliate stretcher with a pierced central reserve. The outstanding frieze displays wonderfully executed pierced scrolled foliate movements with richly carved floral accents, which are repeated at the sides. Above is the original Verde Antico Greco marble top with a fine mottled border. All original patina throughout.
