c19th Century Rustic Oak Chopping Block Table/Console On Three Legs, England. A rustic oak chopping block which would serve perfectly as a side/coffee table/plinth. Sitting on three splayed chip carved legs and formed of oak with a oversized slab top the piece has a great aesthetic. Dating from the 1800s/early 1900s with a worn paint finish. Befitting of interiors that blend pieces of different styles and ages, the piece would work equally well in a contrasting modern interior as well as traditional and also one that harnesses the stripped-back, primitive, rustic, wabi-sabi aesthetic that is so on trend currently and embraces and helps us see natural beauty in imperfection. The piece has great patina that only the nature of the material and time can produce. Condition: The piece naturally shows wear commensurate with its age and the practical use it would have once served.
