About the Item
Vintage teak desk, model 66, designed by Danish designer Erik Riisager Hansen, executed by Haslev Mobelsnedkeri, Denmark.
A Haslev label with model number can be found underneath of the desk.
This modern mid-20th century freestanding desk shows remarkable high-quality craftsmanship and is equipped with many beautiful details. The table top has a solid raised edge on three sides, preventing things to fall off.
The desk has round tapered legs that subtly flare out at the bottom, which gives the design a sculptural appearance. A striking detail in addition is the point-shaped connection of the legs into the rectangular table top (see pictures 6+8). This remarkable construction shows the distinctive quality and craftsmanship in which this desk is manufactured. The connections between apron and legs are also magnificently executed.
The desk has two compartments on either side with three deep drawers with integrated handles. The top drawers of these reveal a hidden sliding tray that can serve as additional work and storage space. Again a distinctive detail that emphasises the quality, versatility and functionality of this beautiful desk.
The desk was lightly restored - no repairs - and comes in excellent condition.
