Italian Desk Attributed to Dassi

About the Item

A walnut desk with champagne colored glass top. The desk is stamped, "Amministrazione Imposte Consumo Varese". Which means that the desk was made for an office in the Northern Italian city of Varese. The original glass ( which broke) was also stamped, " Fontana Cantu". Which means the glass was made by Fontana Arte in their factory in Cantu. This desk has beautiful sculptural lines. Also very large and has four deep drawers for storage.

  • Condition:
    Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. The desk has been restored. There where pieces of veneer replaced and the desk was re-finished. Also the original glass top was broken and re-placed.
