About the Item

This stunning large home office desk provides a great work space and luxurious drawer storage! It features subtle carved decorations, stunning flame mahogany, and supple leather to create a classical and distinguished look. With both style and function, this desk makes a wonderful addition to any home office! All facets of this pedestal desk exude the quality and care that were used in its creation. The flame mahogany has a distinct grain that has been offset by a cross band around the drawers. Solid brass pulls provide a sturdy way to open the drawers. Also, the drawer joints consist of proper dovetails on all four corners. The smaller drawers slide easily on wooden runners. Meanwhile the two file drawers use metal runners to ensure easy opening even when fully loaded. The top of this large home office desk features three panels of light brown leather. The borders of each panel have been embossed and delicately gold tooled. The result is a traditional look and ideal work space. Leather makes a superior writing surface. Finally, the finish of this newly made desk is a quality finish. Made to mimic antique “French Polish” finishes, it is both beautiful and durable. By lightly and expertly distressing the wood prior to finishing, the maker has been able to imbue a sense of age and character into this desk rivaling much older pieces. Each corner of the pedestals is canted and decorated with carvings. Complimentary oval carvings are applied above them on the top. The back and both sides feature a decorative molding that adds interest to these areas. Finally, the modestly panel in the back is slightly pushed back, giving a slight breakfront appearance to the client side of the desk. In addition to its wonderful style, this desk will enhance your office space with function as well! The centre drawer features a pencil holder built in. Both file drawers have install hangers that accommodate both legal and letter size files. The knee hole area of this large home office desk measures 27? wide and 23 7/8? tall. Finally this desk comes in four pieces (top, two pedestals, and panel) for easier moving.
