Mid Century Maison Jansen Manner Brass & Leather Top Desk Writing Table 1950s

About the Item

Elegant Mid Century brass and ebonised three drawer desk with leather inset, in the Maison Jansen manner. French - Circa 1950. This Directoire style desk is made in bright solid brass with contrasting ebonised drawer fronts, sides and back, the drawers each having a brass handle and escutcheon. The top has the original black leather inset, with gilt Greek key tooled embossed design. There are some scuff marks and light signs of use, a ring mark to the left hand side to note. Please refer to the photographs. The leather inset has been treated with a natural balsam, and waxed. The drawers run very smoothly and are clean on the inside. The brass has been polished, and overall has a bright even shine. There are some signs of use, with a small indentation to the back, and the right hand side has some scratch marks. Please refer to the photographs for details. There is 60.5cm in height for legroom The images do not do this desk justice, it is simply a superb piece. Delivery is INCLUDED in the price for all areas in MAINLAND England & Wales.
