    An outstanding French Oak Double Pedestal Dining Table. A double pedestal oak extension dining table by Albert Guenot, c. 1940. Substantial, sculptural pedestal legs Extension leaves pull out from either end of table by pulling edge down and pulling leaves out to extend. Includes two 21.5" leaves which extends the table to 119.5" wide 76.5" wide x 42" deep x 29" high, 3" apron Good overall condition. Light wear to surface. Albert-Lucien Guenot (1894-1993) Guenot was a French decorator and furniture designer, born in Arcueil-Cachan, and schooled at the Ecole Boulle in Paris. Guenot immersed himself in “The Moderne Style” by working as a designer in the studio of Maurice Dufrene, in sculpted wood with Laurent Malcles, in sculpture with Paul Follot, in ironwork for Edgar Brandt, and briefly for architect Rene Crevel. From 1923 the balance of his career was at the Pomone design studio of Au Bon Marche department store in Paris. He became the chef d’atelier under director, Paul Follot.
