Just over 5' long this unusually large rectangular English Regency breakfast or dining table in mahogany can seat up to 8 in a pinch (family and friends) and 6 with a lot of room and ample leg clearance. It is wide enough to have a center piece, candles, a bottle of wine or to serve. Offers a very stable platform on a baluster-turned pedestal with reeded saber legs, and a tilt-top mechanism that allows this elegant table to be discreetly stored away or placed in the corner of a room when not in use, making it ideal for a small apartment or where space is limited. Original brass casters and mechanism. A multi functional table that can be used for dining, a spare table for additional dining that tilts up or as a desk. Repaired: Old separations in top were glued and clamped then stabilized with wood butterflies on the back side of table as seen in photos. Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Materials & Techniques: solid mahogany, original brass casters, original brass tilt mechanism. Original finish restored with French polish. Beautiful patina and excellent tight grained mahogany.
