Pink Art Deco Marble Dining Table with Brass Inlay Waterfall Base and glass top

About the Item

Pink Marble Serpentine dining table with oval glass top and sculptural waterfall base attributed to Karl Springer. Rare art deco or art nouveau mid-century modern pink laminate tessellated marble base shaped in a wonderful curved shape. The base is comprised of wood, and covered in tessellated pink marble. It is shaped in a rounded sculptural form resembling a sculptural "U". The base rests on a pink scalloped tessellated marble platform with brass inlaid between each scalloped layer. It curls gently down to the floor. The entire piece is affixed with rectangular Pink Marble pieces in both light pink and dark or rose pink and incredible veining. The top of the base features the same marble pattern, however, it also includes a brass inlay in a circular art deco or Hollywood Regency design. A large (extremely heavy) beveled glass top rests atop the base. Guests can see through the glass and eye the gorgeous brass and pink rose inlaid marble patterns. In the manner of Karl Springer. This piece has several cracks at the bottom which were somewhat repaired at one point. There is one rectangular piece missing from the very bottom scallop of the base. This statement piece would be a wonderful focal point in any dining room. We also like the idea of placing it outside on a covered patio for those Summer Supper parties. It could also be used as a center table. An eye-catching piece to any foyer or entry. Great way to incorporate Palm Springs style, Hollywood Regency or Art Deco into your summer dining room makeover.

Condition:
Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Two small chips on glass. A few missing pieces and cracks at very bottom of base. Still sturdy and in wonderful vintage condition. I'd still let it eat crackers in bed.
