American Queen Anne Drop-Leaf Dining Table on Trifid Feet, Pennsylvania

About

A fine Queen Anne walnut drop-leaf dining table from the third quarter of the 18th century, it is characterized by an arched skirt with a tiny drop at the centre over cabriole legs terminating in carved trifid feet. The leaves are raised over wrought-iron hinges to rest on outward swinging gating legs in the typical manner. With an old refinish throughout and rich walnut boards retaining a gorgeous overall patina, it remains a fine presentation piece that is equally suited as a hallway console or as a functional dining table.
