Renowned Romney Green Arts and Crafts English Drop-Leaf Gateleg

About the Item

A superb example of Cotswold School furniture, developed in early 20th century, England. Romney Green, a leader of the movement, whose work is prized for craftsmanship and elegant simple lines, made the farm table using his typical chip-carving technique on the base. The pattern of wood planking on the dining tabletop's center portion is elegant and interesting, the pegs beautifully placed. The oak stain is the universal oak color, with a lovely patina. As there is essentially no apron, the table height for sitting is perfect. Dimensions below are for table when open, when closed, dimensions are 41.5 x 17 x 29".
