Neoclassical American Empire Side or Lamp Table in Mahogany, circa 1820

About the Item

A neoclassical American Empire work table in mahogany and crotch mahogany with two drawers with convex fronts. Top rests on cylindrical column over a quatre-from base and terminating in carved lions' paw feet on casters, Philadelphia, circa 1815-1825. Beautiful crotch West Indies mahogany, with well carved and articulated claw feet. Note: You should always request a shipping quote.     Refinished. Replacements made: Glass pulls were added later in the 19th century and date from about 1880. Original pulls would have been turned wood. Wear consistent with age and use. Table is in very good condition, it has been restored and French polished.
