Late 20th Century Rustic Oak Whiskey Barrel Poker Table & 4 Swivel Chairs
By Brothers Furniture Corp.
Located in Topeka, KS
Awesome Late 20th Century rustic oak whiskey barrel poker table & 4 swivel chairs in the style of Brothers of Kentucky but these are made by The San Hygene Furniture MFG. CO. The chairs are comprised of actual oak whiskey barrels cut apart, padded, and upholstered in a multi-colored diamond pattern vinyl or faux leather with nail head details and rustic steel straps. They have a swivel base with metal footrests and the table is comprised of a whiskey barrel pedestal base, rustic steel straps, and an octagon top lined with green felt and poker chip slots on one side and solid wood on the other. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been redone, restored, or refinished. Specifically, these have been cleaned thoroughly, some restitching done to the diamond patches, & wood oiled. We have purposely left the rustic look of all the metal including the footrest. There is a pink or red mark on the seat of one chair that we were unable to remove completely and some plugs on the chair legs have been replaced. Note: the color pattern on one of the chairs differs from the others but with this pattern it is very hard to see. (we did not notice till we started to photograph!) Please see photos and zoom in for details as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Late 20th Century. “You’ve got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em, know when to walk away, and know when to run!” You sure do Kenny Rogers!! Did we get you singing? You sure should be!! WOW!!! This is an INCREDIBLE vintage rustic oak whiskey barrel poker table & 4 swivel chairs in the style of Brothers of Kentucky, but these are produced by The San Hygene Furniture MFG. CO. There are four chairs comprised of actual oak whiskey barrels that have been cut apart, padded, and upholstered in a bright multi-colored diamond pattern or patchwork vinyl or faux leather and accented with antiqued brass nail head details and rustic steel straps. They have swivel bases and natural splayed wood legs with metal tube footrest stretchers that bear a gorgeous vintage patina which we have purposefully left alone as we think it enhances their character! The table is comprised of an oak whiskey barrel pedestal base with matching splayed legs, rusty or rustic steel straps, and an octagon shaped top with a green felt lined octagon in the center and poker chip slots and sections on one side and solid wood with gorgeous wood grain on the other. It is extremely heavy, well made, and ready to host your next poker game!! It will be a phenomenal addition to your game room, family room, man cave, or entertainment area but it also has a nice feature for times you are NOT hosting poker night… Flip the tabletop over if you aren’t hosting poker night and use it as a lunch or dinner table or breakfast nook. Whether you are a poker & card game lover, a whiskey lover, or a just lover of magnificent rustic style, THIS set is exactly what you’ve been looking for! It puts “entertaining” on a whole new level! Look, at the end of the day, it’s your “call” but this whiskey barrel table...

Located in Topeka, KS
Fantastic vintage Scandinavian Modern teak round top pedestal base dining table by KD Furniture manufactured by Sun Furniture for import. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There are some scratches and a few blemishes on the tabletop, but we chose not to refinish. It is a bit more prominent in the photo than in person and it does not detract from the beauty of this piece. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Late 20th Century. Is there anything as wonderful as gathering around the dinner table for a home cooked meal? Especially at an exquisite teak table bursting with Danish charm? We think NOT!! This is an ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS teak dining table with a beautiful 4 leg pedestal base made in Thailand by KD Furniture and manufactured by Sun Furniture for import. Located in Topeka, KS
Gorgeous modern to postmodern cognac leather game table trapezoid shaped with angled legs and leather game board center insert made in India. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There is a tear in the tops leather that has been repaired and it is still visible but no other flaws that we have detected. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1990’s. Game On!!!!! How cool is this cognac leather game table!!!??? It’s Super cool!! Made in India and comprised of a saddle or cognac color leather and its angled legs form a trapezoid shaped body with a square leather lid that lifts off or pokes out using the hole underneath the tabletop and has a gorgeous, double stitched checkerboard on the flipside! Under the “lid” or checkerboard in the center cavity is a hand-stitched backgammon board with natural and black stitching. The detail in the stitching is incredible!! Mod MCM Table by Milo Baughman & TC & 2 Chairs by Founders Furniture Red & White
Located in Topeka, KS
Fabulous mod style MCM (mid-century modern) 1967 dining or game table from the New Design Idiom line by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin comprised of red vinyl base and white laminate top table, and 2 slipper chairs by Founders Furniture. Chairs have been reupholstered in a neoprene bonded sponge waterproof wet suit fabric by Big Z Fabric. Wonderful vintage condition. The laminate top has been cleaned and polished but two small rust spots remain. The vinyl is in beautiful shape and the chairs have been reupholstered. Please see photos. We try to show flaws. Circa, 1967-1971. NOTE: Due to photography/studio lighting color accuracy between the red vinyl on the chairs compared to the table base may be slightly different. The chairs are a bit lighter red than the table base. Does it really get any cooler than Mod style slipper chairs with RED wet suit fabric??? WELL… YES! Especially when you pair them with a FANTASTIC 1967 New Design Idiom table by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin!!! We are in LOVE with this awesome mid-century modern table and chairs set. First, these scoop style chairs are beautifully reupholstered in a neoprene bonded sponge waterproof wet suit fabric from Big Z Fabric…AND it’s 3 MM thick with buttons! SO COOL… The scoop design allows for a deep sitting experience that is comfortable and oh-so-full-of-style! And that’s not all!! This table!! WOW, it has a round white laminate top, and the base is pedestal or barrel style, and it is covered in its original fabulous smooth red vinyl fabric! When eclectic partnerships such as Milo Baughman and Thayer Coggin come together and create, it results in furniture with style and presence that is simply unmatchable and highly sought after. And, Founders Furniture had been a division of Thomasville Furniture since 1965. This table and chairs set would be perfect in a sitting room or lounge area or even a breakfast nook! Want to add a little something groovy to your home? You just found it!! One of the most remarkable partnerships in the mid-century modern to modern design world was the phenomenal furniture making duo of Milo Baughman and Thayer Coggin. Milo Baughman, a 20th Century genius of design, was born in Western Kansas in 1923 but was moved a year later by his family to Long Beach, California. He created Milo Baughman Design Inc. in 1947 and began designing interiors and furniture. Thayer Coggin was born in 1922 in Denton, North Carolina. Twelve years later his family moved 25 miles north to High Point where he grew up surrounded by furniture manufacturing. Thayer’s first love was furniture and Milo’s was design. So, together in 1953, after the two met, history was made in American furniture making by one of the greatest collaborations in the industry. During his career and before his death in 2003, Milo did design for several other companies as well as his own, but it is his collaboration with Thayer Coggin that is most impressive and sought-after today. Thayer Coggin, Inc. is still in business today even after its namesake’s death and is still offering classic selections from the late Baughman’s designs. Founders Furniture began as an independent company in 1947. The president was Edward Thrower. They merged with Thomasville Furniture in 1965 and were sold after to the Armstrong Group. Founders Furniture Company pieces are highly sought after today. High quality, classic style, and iconic manufacturers! This set including the 1967 New Design Idiom Table by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin AND two red slipper chairs...

Vintage, New and Antique Game Tables

Bring drama and duels of dexterity into your home with vintage, new and antique game tables for every kind of game.

Who doesn’t love a little competition? Historians estimate that early versions of games such as backgammon were played by members of ancient civilizations at least as far back as 3,000 B.C. Chess, which likely originated in India as a game called chaturanga, is a timeworn test of skills and strategy as well, and the modern era’s iteration of the game was enjoyed by nobles at least as early as the 16th century.

While the upper classes in Europe were among the only chess players who could afford the game’s decoratively carved ivory pieces, the game eventually became accessible to the general public. In the late 19th century, the game’s first official chess championships took place, a realm that eventually produced celebrated players such as avowed Eames Executive chair enthusiast Bobby Fischer. Today, antique chessboards have seen an uptick in demand owing to a successful Netflix series in 2020 called The Queen’s Gambit, which chronicles the life of fictional chess prodigy Beth Harmon.

Modern versions of chess boards and other home game tables may have evolved to accommodate the variety of games for which they’re used but are still versatile pieces of furniture. Not every card table with chairs is the ideal dining table, but you certainly don’t have to limit a game table to recreational use.

Antique trictrac tables, for example, were products of 18th-century France, wherein furniture makers created what looked like multipurpose neoclassical writing desks and card tables that when their tops were removed revealed trictrac, chess and checkers surfaces. Other game tables, in a complete commitment to fun, merely support good old-fashioned competition. Contemporary Ping-Pong (or table tennis) tables, which have origins in 1880s Victorian England, can be quite sophisticated in form and are made from a variety of materials today. A billiards table is an iconic piece for any game room or living room, but your pool table is really going to be used for only one thing, right?

Antique or new Regency-style game tables, mid-century modern tables or Art Deco–style card tables, perhaps fashioned from rosewood or mahogany, might be equipped with convertible tabletops to shift from meals to game time in a snap. If you prefer poker or opt for a card table topped with a checkerboard, convenient drawers and other compartments can be found in new and vintage game tables that fit poker chips or other types of game pieces perfectly.

Find a range of top-quality vintage and antique game tables on 1stDibs that can help you introduce a bit of class to every competition at home.
