English 19th Century Limed Beech Prep Table

About the Item

A unique handcrafted beech work table from England, 19th century, its tactile patina would be an inspiring backdrop for any creative pursuit from artistic to culinary–perfect as an unexpected kitchen island. The surface area is composed of three irregular planks held in place with round dowels that punctuate the edges. Repetitive chop marks imprinted upon the weathered grain confirm the utilitarian function of the table for cooking preparation which has left a fascinating texture also dotted with tiny holes. Thick, square legs to support the mass and regular use are reinforced with an H-form stretcher. Gently cleaned and left in its current natural finish, this antique work table is ready to join your interior. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
