About the Item
Burrs are the gnarled growths that some old trees develop. They yield the most beautiful decorative wood, with tightly swirling grain that shimmers in the light. Burrs tend to be small and are associated with precious displays of craftsmanship, typically jewelry boxes.
Larger burrs of a good quality are rare, and this side table was made by English furniture maker Benchmark specifically to celebrate the spectacular natural form of this piece of burr oak. The top sits inside a solid patinated brass table frame, which sets off the intense richness of the wood.
