Arthur Espenet Carpenter Walnut Table with Drawer

About the Item

Side table in walnut by Arthur Espenet Carpenter, (1920-2006). This table has a single drawer below the top. The solid walnut sides and top are joined with dovetail joints. The runners for the drawer are visible on the back of the drawer and become a detail in the design. The table is in original condition. There are some small scratches and dings. The table is signed under the top and is dated 1977. Espenet lived and worked in Bolinas, California. He was a member of the Baulines Craft Guild. His work is in the collection of the Smithsonian Institution, Museum of Modern Art and Museum of Arts and Design in New York.
