French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Mahogany, Ormolu and Marble Side Table
About the Item
A remarkable and very high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Mahogany, ormolu, and Brocatelle Violette marble circular side table. The circular table is raised by elegant circular tapered legs with fine topie shaped feet and unique and extremely decorative twisted and beaded ribbon fitted chandelles below mottled top caps with wrap around Coeur de Rai designs. Above each leg are richly chased pierced foliate ormolu mounts of charming blooming flowers tied with a ribbon and flanking the apron which showcases the beautiful Mahogany grain with a mottled ormolu band and a concealed drawer at the front. Above is the original Brocatelle Violette marble top fitted within a fine wrap around mottled ormolu gallery with a lovely fluted and twisted ribbon design.
