Italian 19th Century Napoleon III Period Ebony and Florentine Table

About the Item

A stunning Italian 19th century Napoleon III Period ebony, marble and ormolu Florentine side table. Raised on scrolled ebony feet with casters, decorated with finely chased acanthus leaf mounts. At the central column support is an inverted finial, chased ormolu bands and acanthus leaves. The hexagonal top with apron has a lovely rai de cour designed ormolu trim. The inlaid marble displays double green marble borders with a central reserve of a fruited branch with leaves. Each of the eight quadrants displays lovely marble inlays of fruits, flowers and seashells.
