Italian 19th Century Neo-Classical St. Fruitwood, and Giltwood Side Table

About the Item

A striking Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. ebonized fruitwood, fruitwood, and giltwood side table. The circular table is raised by an elegant triangular fruitwood bottom tier with cut corners and concave sides. Three striking and wonderfully executed snakes support the table with impressive richly carved fish scales, ferocious giltwood dolphin heads, and pointed tails. A single richly carved giltwood snake is wrapped around the center. Above is the circular fruitwood top with a lovely and most decorative sunburst veneered design showcasing the warm wood grain. All original gilt throughout.
