Through organic, almost puddle-like shapes in both clear and colored acrylic, Leelo appears to be an alien form that could change shapes at any moment, taking on the qualities of its surroundings as an adaptive measure. Leelo’s top in wavy layers of pink and bronze acrylic hint to the landscape of the planet from whence this creature came. Through this piece another human is adapting methods of working with acrylic that can be seen in the studio's past work, while exploring ways to push the material further through the use of color, form and layering.
The Leelo table is part of Another Human's ET Collection, driven by the narrative of a misfit group of aliens discovering one another while lost in space. Each piece in the collection achieves otherworldly qualities by pushing the boundaries of form and finish, while maintaining the playful and whimsical ethos that Another Human has become known for.
