Worm Side Table, Contemporary Sculptural Solid Wood End Table

The Cleave side table is handcrafted out of solid white oak. The Cleave is built by gluing two chunks of oak together with a layer of paper between. After handing turning it into shape, it is "cleaved" in half at the paper joint with the help of a vegetable cleaver. One half becomes the top, the other gets split again, hamburger folded, and glued back together to make the base. Funnily enough, the word cleave means both “to split apart” or “adhere together”.
