It was time for a change and a new challenge. The challenge was to build an ambitious design brand from the ground up with high-quality materials and great attention to the little details. With a drive to create new originals, the WOUD collection is founded upon the idea to look ahead instead of looking back and share the love for honest design. Therefore, we are eager to discover and develop new ideas whether it being in form, function or choice of material. Chifen cheng is a taiwanese-born canadian designer currently living in london. the upcoming design talent worked industrial field for years montreal before she completed her master degree royal college of art products today manages develops and designs interior projects both accessories furniture. With her experience, she creates efficient, meaningful and compelling products that make a difference. Chifen Cheng aims to improve people’s lives and to design a better future living. Her inspiration for new designs originates from the way lines and shapes intersect space, which translates the visual consequence into a product that is honest and good to live with. Her fascination of lines and shapes recur in the Duo side table which is inspired by ‘vesica piscis’; the shape of two overlapping circles with the same radius. The idea was to convert this geometric composition into a table while capturing a glimpse of light. Its tranquillity appearance makes it optimal to sit by while centring yourself or relaxing after a long day.
