Table model 200 by Alain Richard, TV furniture edition
By Alain Richard
Located in PARIS, FR
Alain Richard (1926 - 2017) is a famous French designer who quickly established himself as one of the most brilliant representatives of his generation. After graduating top of his class from the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in 1949, he joined his former teacher René Gabriel's studio, before moving to the Netherlands on Gabriel's death. The young designer then collaborated with Hein Salomonson's firm, before setting up his own design office in Paris in 1952 with his wife Jacqueline Iribe, a designer of furnishing textiles. Rigorously functional, his first pieces of furniture were first published by Lavrilleux and Charron, then by Meubles TV, where Alain Richard worked and designed several pieces with André Monpoix. Together, they designed the Banquette 195 (1954). A success among others, it was awarded the Prix de la Triennale de Milan in 1954 and, ten years later, the Prix René Gabriel. Alain Richard's talented career continued in the 70s, with frequent commissions from the Mobilier national, the design of numerous museums, and projects for major hotel groups, winter sports resorts and BNP, which entrusted him with the furnishings of numerous prestigious branches around the world. At the end of his career, he devoted himself to teaching.
the table 200 was published by meuble TV, one of the major publishers of the time. It measures 180 cm when the extension is in use, and 130 cm when the extension is folded away to the side. It can be used as a dining table for 8 people...

Boulle Work Table - Stamped: L.gradé & Pelcot - Period: XIXth
Located in CRÉTEIL, FR
In the 19th century, under the reign of Napoleon III (1852/1870) in particular, marquetry was rediscovered.
We copy the styles of previous centuries; so we make a lot of Boulle style furniture.
The richness and the quality of the materials are the same but the execution benefits from technical progress: the quality of the furniture of the end of the XIX is superior to that of their ancestors.
Here is a rare work table in gilded brass marquetry on a blackened and lacquered pear tree background.
Its lively scalloped top, surrounded by an ingot mold, is adorned with a cartouche opening onto a rosewood interior with a vanity mirror and a belt drawer. In the lower part, a hopper drawer remains invisible below.
Its feet are curved with ornamentation in chiseled and gilded bronze.
Period: Second half of the 19th century.
Dimensions: H: 72 x W: 63 x D: 43cm.
Stamped: L.Gradé & Pelcot,
A work table, also called a worker, it is a small light table whose top is surrounded by a high border to prevent falling objects.
The work table or worker is a small table that can be recognized by its removable flat or rounded top containing storage.
This table with or without crotch shelf sometimes has a sliding book box under the belt. Louis Gradé...

Antique French Wrought Iron Railing Console with Shellstone Top
Located in Dallas, TX
Originally a balcony railing, this salvaged antique iron has been repurposed into a magnificent console table with a shellstone top. The railing was salvaged from a French building that was constructed in the late 1800’s.
A two-inch-thick cream stone with white inclusions surmounts the painted green ironwork. The stone, which features a stunning display of shell and coral trace fossils, has been carved with a thin beveled edge. Directly beneath the stone is a row of repeating geometric shapes joined by pierced circles. The pattern is a larger open circle followed by a horizontally aligned open rectangle. Small roundels join the rectangles to the horizontal bars above and below.
On the other side of the lower bar is a second row of repeating shapes, this time vertical rectangles followed by larger rectangles with incised corners and an inset elongated oval. Once again, the open ironwork is joined by pierced circles and roundels. On each end is a scrolled section that blends subtly into another geometric motif.
This recently converted wrought iron railing...
