19th Century English Inlaid Tilt-Top Table

About the Item

19th century tilt-top table from England made from mahogany and rosewood. The top has a beveled edge around a band of rosewood with inlaid patterns of florals, vines and fruits. The inlay work is absolutely exquisite. The rosewood band has an inner border of thin satinwood and has a thicker band of gorgeously grained mahogany. This surrounds another satinwood thin border surrounding a central mahogany medallion, expertly inlaid with an intricate floral design. The table sits on a turned and fluted vase pedestal, joined by three shapely legs with hand carved florals on the knees and terminating in the most interesting scrolled foot, supported on what appear to be original casters. The table when up measures 53 wide x 35.5 deep x 62 high.
