Antique French Rosewood Parquetry Dessert Pastry Server

About the Item

An exquisite French rosewood dessert serving tray table dating to the turn of late 19th / early 20th century. Finished in sophisticated Louis XVI style, nicely curved lines give this piece the most elegant silhouette, solid wood construction, having two serpentine shaped tiers with matched parquetry tops framed by contrasting ogee molded edge, the lower tier fitted with sculpted brass carrying handles, gracefully rising on cabriole legs. Styled in the manner of celebrated interior decorator and furniture manufacturer Louis Majorelle (1859–1926). Circa 1900; France, likely Paris. Dimensions: (approx) 31.75" H, 36" W, 23" D Ideal size and proportions for a variety of uses, including as a side table, accent table, parlor lamp stand, etegere, dry bar cart, cocktail drinks centre table, to name just a few. Great original antique condition with beautiful, warm, nicely aged patina over the whole. Rich rosewood color and grain detail. Presents splendidly. Structurally sound, solid and sturdy, with expected minor signs of age and wear. Delivered cleaned, waxed, French polished patina.
