Founded around 1950 in Vittsjö, Sweden, by Uno Kristiansson, Luxus of Sweden became one of the defining names in mid-century Scandinavian lighting and interior design. With roots in their father's woodworking factory, the Kristiansson brothers crafted organic modernist pieces distinguished by clean lines, warm woods (like teak and oak), and high-quality craftsmanship.Uno Kristiansson served as the entrepreneur and skilled electrician, while his younger brother, Östen Kristiansson, acted as the visionary sculptor and designer. Together, they transformed Luxus into an internationally renowned brand. Their 1950s opaline glass and teak lamps, followed by the bold, brightly colored acrylic designs of the 1960s, are now highly sought-after mid-century collectibles.
