This painting, like most of Ren Hui’s exquisite artworks, celebrates his subjects using a style that he calls “uncomplicated and honest.” The beautiful pattern of white carved out of a painted black background, is called "Rome." The artist uses a pure and deliberate approach by highlighting a famous place and period in history using simple flourishes of marks, points and dots.
