"And then, and then and then and then and then" Gargle Glop by Takashi Murakami

About

A framed original offset lithograph by the Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. Entitled "And then, and then and then and then and then" Gargle Glop, the print is hand signed and dated in silver ink by the artist. Numbered out of 300 editions, it presents the world famous Mr. DOB, the hybrid cartoon figure designed as the artist’s alter ego, inspired by his homeland’s anime and manga culture. The O-shaped grinning face is topped by two ears inscribed with the letters D and B above large eyes and multicolored teeth. The variegated abstract coloring is characteristic of Nihonga style, a fusion of Japanese and Western artistic approaches that developed in the late 19th century. Takashi Murakami, “the Warhol of Japan” whose work is collected worldwide, has developed an original artistic language combining fine art and popular culture within a flattened representational picture-plane echoing traditional Japanese art. This framed and signed lithograph by one of the most prominent contemporary artists of his time will add a touch of modernity into any collection. Limited edition of 300.
