19th Century Unmarked Sevres Hand-Painted Porcelain Plaque, Hand Carved Frame

About the Item

A circa 1880 masterpiece of a young couple feeding doves. This is a superb example of a 19th century unmarked Sèvres hand painted porcelain plaque. Signed by the artist R. Deniau. The motive depicts young lovers in 18th Century costumes feeding a few doves. The scene is set in the Sevres blue background with heavily applied gold ornaments. This plaque is framed with a wooden hand carved and leaf gilded Florentine frame. Size: Plaque L 11 ¾” x W 9 ½” Frame L 20” x W 16”.
