About the Maker

Design Editions

Design Editions explores the relationship between craftsmanship, modern machining and materiality to create a unique portfolio of vertical surface designs for use in residential, office and hospitality interiors. The collection include ACUSTICA, artistically coordinated Class A noise reduction and THE EDITIONS, an aesthetic exploration of crafts and materials, created in collaboration with leading architects and designers. Design Editions revisits traditional crafts and modern manufacturing techniques to encourage a new appreciation for component materials utilized today in design. Mass produced and consumed in high volume, raw materials ranging from aluminum and steel to terracotta and textiles are reexamined and repurposed into vertical surface designs to emphasize each material’s aesthetic properties separate from its functional role. The aim is to transform the latent potential of primary design materials into a new class of aesthetic objects. With its international network of respected designers and architects, Design Editions produces a collection of vertical surface designs and acoustic panels rooted in Scandinavian minimalism, Italian contemporary design and international modernism. The brand employs a mix of artisanal techniques and modern production methods thanks to partnerships with experienced players from the world of industrial design who are committed to the company’s vision.
