Italian Fan-Shaped Gilt Cloud with Brass Sun-Rays Wall Decoration, 19th Century
About the Item
An Italian wall decoration of brass and gilt sun-rays from the 19th century. This antique ornament from Italy features a wooden cloud (which retains its original gilt finish) at bottom, from which a fan-shaped formation of brass sun-rays emerges up and outward in undulating fashion. Some of the rays have a textured and bead-trimmed accents about their surfaces, making them appear to come alive with visual movement. This piece has a nice span of just over 3 feet in width. This 19th century Italian gilt and brass cloudy ray will look exceptional and cheery as a wall accessory, perhaps mounted in a living, dining room, or bedroom.
