REDUCED FROM $650.....Large and lovely Japanese blue and white Arita porcelain charger from the early 20th century. The symbolism of this Charger is very spiritual. It is decorated with Cherry Blossoms (Sakura), meaning time of renewal but also symbolic for the fleeting nature of life. Peonies which represent Strength and Beauty and Butterflies signifying Life of Spring. A lyrical composition of awakening of nature in Spring.
In good condition other than: few clay impurity flaws occurring during firing and an additional brown colored area lower left, see all images.
Measurements: 16 1/2 inches diameter x 2 1/4 inches high.
