Large Albert Gilles Round Copper Wall Plaque of a Semi Nude Neoclassical Figure
About the Item
This large copper wall hanging was done by the well known metal worker Albert Gilles from Canada and dates to approximately 1920 and done in an Art Deco style. The round convex wall plaque is done in copper with a repousse disc in the center depicting a semi nude Neoclassical figure seated on a bench with a stylized animal at their feet. The plaque is clearly signed "A Gilles" in the bottom right corner.
