Danish original 19th century watercolor and ink portrait of the two masted brig "Emerald" with Kronborg (Elsinore) castle in the background. Signed lower right with initials J(acob) P(etersen), titled by artist lower left " Brig Emerald of Montrose Captain Robert Wood", circa 1841-1860.
The brig "Emerald" was built in 1841 for D. Macki. She weighed in at 200 tons and was iron bolted. She plied the Baltic Sea out of her home port of Montrose where she was built. She was deregistered in 1860.
