Red Wax Intaglio Seal Collection with Scottish Coats of Arms

About

18th-19th century English and mostly Scottish collection of 33 red wax seals bearing the armorials and coats of arms of various personages. Many of the surname Drummond from Blair Drummond in Scotland. Each one a small piece of history from a time when letters and the written word were taken very seriously, with wax seals a way of securing the message and a symbol of the author. Many of these have the name of the owner hand written in ink by the original collector.
