An abstract realism canvas entitled “Maple Avenue, Altamont, New York” by Ed Cowley (1925-2014), chair of the fine arts department at Albany State University for over 50 years. He was an important and beloved figure in the small town of Altamont NY, and brought abstract expressionist and cubist techniques to his depictions of the Victorian houses up and down Main Street and throughout the town.
