Reduced from $2,800 for saturday sale. Angel Botello (1913-1986) colorful linocut of nudes on a beach. Warm tropical colors, face types and bodies, hallmarks typical of Botello. Noted Latin American artist, born in Spain, after the Spanish Civil War left for the Dominican Republic and then Haiti (12 yrs.) and finally Puerto Rico. He was facinated by the brilliance and life of the tropics and impassioned by the colors and vibrance surrounding him. In Puerto Rico, he was a pioneer by opening one of the first art galleries, followed by a second. His works figure prominently at Sothebys & Christies at the yearly Latin American Art auctions. Botello's art is included in numerous museum and private collections worldwide. Measures 14" x 17.5" sight, 21" x 25" frame. This linocut is in excellent condition, bright and warm. We apologize for the dark images and reflections in the glass.
