--Exquisitely Painted Subject of the Two Sisters Holding The Play by Alexandre Duval of "La Maison a Vendre" (The House To Sell), the October 23, 1800 Opera Comique in Paris which had much success. Music by Nicolas-Marie Dalayrac
--Original frame, excellent original condition neoclassical
Scholarship: According to Sotheby's Old Master Department, the art scholar, Alain Latreille attributed this work to Lefevre. The sitters, the Clary Sisters, were researched and attributed by Osenat in Paris.
Provenance: Charles C. Patterson, New York and Paris, L'Antiquaire & The Connoisseur, New York, Collection of Lucille Kaye.
