Beautiful oil on canvas « La Belle Rousse aux Yeux Bleus » depicting a beautiful young redheaded woman with blue eyes wearing a hat, a lot of quality in this excellent Museum painting, painted by Jules Abel Faivre at the Apogee of his Art, with the advice of Auguste Renoir his Friend. And, up to now, the curators have been right on this excellent painter and acquisition museums were numerous. Our painting in fine original condition is signed in the lower right by Jules Abel Faivre, it is in his original canvas and, his original carved wood frame. Measurements unframed: H 18.11 in. - W 14.96 in. Measurements with frame: H 24.80 in. - W 22.44 in. Biography: Abel Faivre (March 30, 1867 – August 13, 1945) was a French painter, illustrator, and cartoonist. Jules Abel Faivre was born in the French city of Lyon. He attended Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Lyon for three years. He then attended the Société Nationale des Beaux-arts and l’académie Julian. He was a member of the Société des Artistes Français. He lived in the French city of La Croix-Valmer. Professionally, he created propaganda posters for the French Army in World War One. He drew comics for « Le Rire », « L’Echo de Paris », and « Le Figaro ». Friend of Auguste Renoir, he received advice and exhibited many times at the Salon. De Paris, notably « Rêveuse » (1898), « La Vierge aux Enfants » (1889), « La Femme à l’éventail » (1901), « L’Enfant au livre » » (1906) and « Portrait de Maurice Donnay » (1907). Jules Abel Faivre died in August 1945, in the French city of Nice. A boulevard is named after Faivre in La Croix-Valmer. His work is held in the collections of the National Library of Medicine, the University of Michigan, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Brooklyn Museum.
