Large Scale Abstract Oil Painting, circa 1960's. Executed in vibrant yellows, oranges, blues, etc. This is a large scale work, measuring 60"L x 60". It is believed to be executed by important African American artist, Daniel Larue Johnson, New York, b. 1938. Monogrammed and dated on back "DLJ '72". Johnson has exhibited at The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Guggenheim Museum and The Museum of Modern Art. A group of very similar Larue Johnson paintings were recently auctioned. This piece is in it's original condition with some overall surface grime and shallow impressions. It can be mounted as is or would benefit with a light surface cleaning.
