Painting by George Watson Barratt "The Dream"

About the Item

George Watson Barratt 1884-1962 was a prominent New York illustrator in the first half of the 20th century. This painting is of an artist, his easel and props in the background, perhaps being visited by his muse, while moonlight streams in the window illuminating his bed and polar bearskin rug. This picture is clearly signed but indistinctly dated circa 1905. For want of anything to contradict I have called it The Dream.
