"Standing Male Model from Behind, " Beautiful Male Nude, Three-Quarters Size
About the Item
Beautifully and sensitively painted, this view of a young, nude male model, facing away from the viewer, places him in an artist's studio or atelier, with painters and their easels visible in the distance. The painting is not signed, but the model's tousled hair, long on the top and shorter on the sides, would suggest this was painted in the 1930s. Although the artist uses loose, expressive brushwork for the model's setting, and the paint does not entirely cover the canvas in the upper reaches of the painting, his attention to the musculature and complexion of the figure is fine and detailed. The olive and deep red tones of the fabrics and other details of the studio complement the figure beautifully. The painting is oil on canvas.
