About

Original paste-up art consisting of 25 black and white photographs of classic American automobiles dating from 1893 to 1947, each mounted to board, created and used by the art department at Esquire magazine circa late 1940s for a feature layout. Each photograph is an original promotional image that was provided by "General Motors Photographic Section". An incredibly charming collection from an era long before Photoshop - - notice the careful (and time-consuming) airbrushing and hand-painting around each vehicle, as well as numerous Esquire art department stamps, handwritten captions, notations and measurements. These would look fantastic framed individually and displayed as a collage. A one-of-a-kind gift for the auto enthusiast.
