Vintage Swiss Stone Lithographic Poster Custom Framed "Astoria"

About the Item

This fantastic and graphic authentic Swiss poster that is on the rare and very obscure side is a stone lithograph that is archivally linen backed and custom framed. The 4 ply silk mat matches the color of the paper. It has a much wider border at the bottom. The custom frame is an ebonized wood with a gold leaf insert attached to the frame. It is initialed AWD and unfortunately throughout all of our research we do not know who the artist is for this printing house. We have called upon all of the poster specialists and no one knows who that artist is. It is rare and obscure. There may be only a few of these that ever existed. The cafe restaurant was called Astoria. It is great graphic poster that will elicit conversation. It is in really great condition from the time period of the early 1930s. The graphic architectural design of the different planes of color and subject matter form angles. It is for a Swiss restaurant/bar that has music and billiards. The printer was Seitz and Co. An alluring poster indeed.
