Buyer Protection Guaranteed

About

A collection of 4 hand block printed textiles by the Folly Cove Designers, Gloucester, Massachusetts, circa 1940s-60s, depicting various themes in inventive patterns:

squirrels, cats, pheasants, and holidays. The red and green examples, pictured in View 1, have been sold separately; but other prints are available if a set of 6 is desired. These were hand block printed onto cotton by various artists who comprised the Folly Cove Designers. The group was founded by Virginia Lee Burton, the celebrated children's book author and illustrator who wrote "Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel", "The Little House", and "Mabel the Cable Car", among other classics, which have never gone out of print. Production of these textiles ceased in 1968 when Virginia Lee Burton died. They are archivally framed, invisibly sewn onto linen backing and framed with UV protected plexiglass.
