Deborah Kass's Save The Country Now is inspired by American songwriter Laura Nyro's Save the Country. The work is part of Kass's series MORE Feel Good Paintings for Feel Bad Times, the first part of which she began in 2002, partly as a critique to the Bush administration. The words featured in these ebullient and colorful works come from other sources—mainly music, quotations, and other works of art—and they explore the intersection of politics, popular culture, art history, and the self.
Artist Deborah Kass finds inspiration in artists like Andy Warhol, Ellsworth Kelly, Frank Stella, Ed Ruscha, Bruce Nauman and Louise Bourgeois from whom she borrows words and deliberately appropriates styles. Her current body of work, Feel Good Paintings for Feel Bad Times, illustrates lyrics from Broadway show tunes, pop music, and classic American songs. These paintings convey positive messages in celebration of the middle class and American culture. Kass chose Broadway as a reference point because she finds it definitively American, optimistic, and personal.
One of her most famous series, the Warhol Project from 1992—2000, employs Warhol's style to celebrate Kass's personal heroes, including singer Barbra Streisand and artists Cindy Sherman and Elizabeth Murray.

- Burt Barr: The Long Dissolve Limited Edition PrintBy PhaidonLocated in New York City, NYPHOTOGRAPH Print made with archival pigments on fine art rag paper with glossy finish 12.00 x 17.00 in 30.5 x 43.2 cm Edition of 150This work comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and an artist signed label on verso. "I shot the video in 2000, in my home in SoHo. I knew prior to shooting what I wanted to do and I envisioned the piece exactly as it turned out. First, I experimented with a metal cookie tin placed on a hot stove. It didn't work because the ice cube melted too quickly. I tried a hairdryer but as the cube melted, the hair-blower blew the remaining cube away. Thus, I let the cube melt on it's own accord in real time. It took about three hours to fully dissolve into a puddle of water. I used a glass plate on Glassene paper: all that transparency made the black lines of the plate look line a charcoal line drawing. The title is important because it precisely explains the work: The Long Dissolve is exactly of an ice cube dissolving." —Burt Barr Claiming that "black and white are the only two colors I'll ever need," Burt Barr is a believer in the single take and the static shot. Meant to be projected directly onto a wall and looped for continual viewing, his films equate more to hanging drawings or black and white photographs than they are moving pictures...Category

- "Love Saves The Day" Harland Miller, 2014 15 Color Silkscreen PrintLocated in London, GB"Love Saves The Day" Harland Miller, 2014 15 color silkscreen print on 410gsm Somerset paper 146 cm x 105 cm page size Edition 100 signed and numbered in pencil. One of the top three most desirable Harland Miller prints, this is a stunning large format print, mounted and framed in a white box frame. Frame size 162 cm x 121 cm Provenance: The Ingleby Gallery, Edinburgh, Scotland. purchased on 7th May 2016 In late 2012, Miller had his first solo show at Ingleby Gallery entitled "Overcoming Optimism" Harland Miller Harland Miller is both a writer and artist (his debut novel Slow Down Arthur Stick to Thirty was published in 2000) and his paintings of books simultaneously provide a subject for the painter and an outlet for the writer. They combine the emotive possibilities of abstract expressionism with the quick punch of words to deliver their message, and for all the macho grist of their making, and often overwhelming scale, they somehow express a frailty that hints at the human condition. As Miller has said: “Painting is the worst medium to express narrative, but perhaps the best to hit a nerve”. Harland Miller was born in Yorkshire in 1964. He has lived in New York and Berlin and currently lives and works in London.
