Tapestry Woven Panel of Figure Group Aubusson Style, French Circa 1930

About the Item

This is a vintage French woven tapestry panel, in the Aubusson style, showing a group of figures in period costumes, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1930. This is a woven panel measuring 23.5 inches wide by 26 inches high with many possible uses; to be either hung as it is, or used as a wall hanging tapestry with a fabric border and back lining that could be applied or used as a front piece for a large cushion / pillow or small throw etc. The design depicts a gathering of four adults and a child, all wearing period costume in an outdoor garden setting, having a typical Aubusson style. The panel has warm colours of browns, greens, pinks and blues and probably made of wool and linen. We date this tapestry panel to the 20th century, circa 1930.
