A very decorative still life wool needlepoint of the famous painting pitcher and bowl of fruit "After" Pablo Picasso.
This needlepoint Tapestry is based on the original painting exhibited in The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, it measurement are 130.8 x 162.6 cm.
This needlepoint measures W x 84 x H 87.5 x D 3cm and it is framed by metallic chrome frame.
No tapestry was woven by Picasso, but by craftsmen who more or less directly collaborated with the artist, receiving his agreement for weaving and his signature. tapestries woven from the works of Picasso.
Familiar with the practices of engraving, ceramics, and cast iron sculpture, Picasso was aware of the power of circulation and diffusion offered by multiples. Published in a small number of copies, tapestries are "adaptations" or "interpretations" that result from a mode of collaboration more or less complicit between the artist and the licier or the studio.
