19th Century Hand-Carved French Neoclassical Address Plaque

About the Item

19th century hand-carved French neoclassical address plaque can easily be "renumbered" for use as was its original intention, or leave it as is for a fascinating interior or exterior decoration! Hand-carved from solid pine, it was designed in the form of an heraldic crest, with floral garlands emanating from the central scroll that were painted separately, with the painted finish possessing a marvelous age and patina. The entire plaque was surely painted originally, but the remainder has now been stripped, making it also customizable to your particular color palette, or just leave as is for a splendid addition to your wall, garden or entryway! Circa 1860s Measures 23 H x 40 W x 8 D.

19th century French brass wall fountain ~ Lavabo is a charming relic from a bygone era! Back before the days of ubiquitous running water in every room of the house, folks were obliged to create ingenious solutions like this wall fountain. The reservoir above held sufficient water for the task, and the basin below captured the waste water for dumping later via an easily removable hanging system. The cast brass valves...
